Our Mission, Purpose, & Vision

The Mission of our Yoga school is to ignite your inner fire and inspire you to make the discipline of Yoga an invaluable practice that enhances your life.
Our Hot Yoga Inc. Teacher Trainings,
Immersions, and Advanced courses are tailored to help you cultivate a methodology that works toward energizing and empowering your mind and body both on and off the mat.
Our unique programs are designed to immerse, nurture, and teach you a technical Yoga methodology to develop you into a competent and confident Yoga teacher. Upon completion of our programs, you will have acquired the necessary skills to lead a challenging and effective Hatha, Fusion, or Power Vinyasa Yoga class.

The 4 Pillars of Hot Yoga Inc's Teacher Training

1. Breath Awareness - Tap into the subtle body and build internal awareness. Learn to synchronize pranayama (breathing) and movement so even the most challenging postures can become achievable.  Learn and investigate the physiology of diaphragmatic breathing to introduce mindfulness into your daily routine and provide you with peace of mind.

2. Biomechanics - Understand and apply functional Yoga anatomy so that both you and your client are safe during assists and alignment cues. Learn the proper techniques to correct your postural habits and help you maintain an injury-free Yoga practice for life.

3. Solid Foundation & Technique for Teaching - Develop a language that is active, direct, clear, and concise to allow your students to flow towards a moving meditation. You will learn the proper Vinyasa, breath with movement, dialogue, sequence, and count for a Hatha, Fusion, or Power Vinyasa Yoga class.

4. Self-exploration - As individuals, we are all uniquely inspired and have many talents that remain dormant. The practice of Yoga allows us to slowly unravel layers of our self so that we can live out our most authentic truth and unlock our greatest empowered potential.

Meet our Faculty

Ivan Gonzalez - Director of Teacher Training & Development

During College, Ivan stumbled upon yoga class to satisfy physical education requirements to graduate at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. After only two semesters of yoga once a week, Ivan was pain-free and was ready to dive deeper into his yoga education.

In 2011, Ivan received his 200 hour RYT Yoga Certification from the American Yoga Academy in NJ and finished his 500 Hour Yoga Certification in 2017 at Samahita Retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand.

In 2014, Ivan received his Bachelor's of Biomedical Engineering and Master's in Enterprise Project Management while simultaneously graduating with two minors in Music and Education. He then went on to pursue the clinical Doctorate program for Physical Therapy for two years at Rutgers University (Formerly UMDNJ).

Ivan synthesized his collegiate and post-grad education with Yoga to create a robust and well-rounded balance of functional movement, specialized therapeutic yoga classes for lower back pain, hips, and shoulder injuries, and also mindful meditation techniques.

Ivan is also a classically trained Opera singer, Reiki Master Teacher, clinically certified Hypnotherapist, and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. I’m so thankful for the friends I made and making memories I’ll never forget.-Ashley T.

Hot Yoga Inc teacher training was awesome! Not only does it prepare you with the toolbox to become a successful effective yoga teacher, but you get the opportunity to meet a group of great people and form close, long-lasting relationships. I would take it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank you Hot Yoga Inc. for an experience I will never forget!-Michelle L.

I always believed that yoga was about reaching a destination in your postures. Teacher Training has taught me that yoga is about finding your breath. Without your breath, your posture is nothing. When you find your breath, you true destiny is your postures and in your life can be found!! “Inhale the good. Exhale the bad.” This is how I breath in yoga and this is how I’ll breathe in life!!!-Aubrey T.

The HYI Hatha Training worked for me in so many ways! First, I loved the camaraderie with the fellow trainees. I made friends for life! Second, I gained so much confidence speaking in front of a group. I have noticed my verbal skills off the mat. Lastly, the material was so vast and had such breadth to it- Thanks HYI for such an amazing experience & training! -Angela P.

Yoga has been a part of my life for several years now, and it wasn't until a few years ago that I knew I wanted to teach.  After spontaneously quitting a stressful job in the restaurant industry, I signed up right away for the Power Yoga Teacher Training at Hot Yoga Inc.  It was really the best decision of my life.  Through the program, I was able to not only deepen my personal practice, but learn about this ancient practice and wisdom of yoga in a whole new light.  I have always wanted to share the joy that yoga brought me with others, and now I have the skills to do so comfortably and confidently, thanks to the wonderful guidance of the teachers at HYI.  It really opened up an entire new world for me, and set me on a path that I knew I was meant to be on.  Thank you Hot Yoga Inc., I am forever grateful for a truly wonderful teacher training experience! - Sarah K.
